In memory of a great Parish Clerk

To the Cambridge Crematorium for the funeral of Mr George Mitchell, of Bottisham. The service was conducted by the Revd. Lawrie Marsh, the former rector of Fen Ditton. I knew George Mitchell best during the time that he was a great Parish Clerk for Lode and Longmeadow. The Parish Council there benefited enormously from George's enthusiasm, his knowledge and his patience. There were many people present and I and the others remembered George's generous and kind services. We shall miss his larger-than-life personality. We extend our sincerest sympathies to his dear wife, Valerie, now sadly widowed.
