What the hell are we still doing in Afghanistan?

From The Times:

"In an exclusive interview with The Times, at the top of an ancient mud-walled tower overlooking Kabul and the snow-capped mountains beyond, the Shadow ministers [George Osborne and William Hague] promised to support General Stanley McChrystal’s counter-insurgency strategy and the troop surge it entails; they embraced the idea of reconciliation with the Taleban; and they emphasised the importance of creating jobs and improving the way that aid projects are delivered."

My question is this, "If we are to have 'reconciliation' with the Taleban, what the hell are we still doing in Afghanistan?"

Bring our boys home now.
